Bios...


Eric Anderson, Jr holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Indiana University, where he studied piano with Edmund Battersby and conducting with the late Thomas Dunn.  He has been involved as pianist or music director in numerous musical theatre productions during his time in Bloomington, including:  Little By Little, Songs for A New World, Reefer Madness, Altar Boyz (student productions); Into the Woods (Bloomington Music Works); Chess, Guys & Dolls (Union Board); The Rocky Horror Show, Assassins (University Players); A Chorus Line, Seussical, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, and The Wild Party (Lippa) (IU Dept of Theatre & Drama). 

He has also served as pianist for the IU Broadway Cabaret/Senior Showcase and has worked with local children’s theatre organization Stages Bloomington, music-directing their 2008 production of Music Man, Jr., and music-directed the Bloomington Playwrights Project’s summer musical theatre camp in July 0f 2009. 

He produced, stage-, and music-directed a 60th anniversary production of Kurt Weill’s Down In The Valley in July of 2008 and recently produced and music-directed a workshop-premiere of Vote!: A New Musical, by Ryann Ferguson and Steven Jamail, which had its New York debut at the NY Fringe Festival in August of 2009.

This season, he will be music-directing Little Shop of Horrors for Cardinal Stage Company, as well as presenting performances of Homemade Fusion and Edges.  In summer of 2010, he will return to the BPP to music-direct the first Indiana production of Jason Robert Brown's 13.
